America just turned 250. And I spent the weekend the only way a McBee knows how — boots on, cattle worked, family close. That's not a coincidence. That's the whole story.

Two hundred and fifty years. Think about that number for a second. When this country was born, most of the people in it were doing exactly what my family still does every single morning — feeding livestock, working land, betting everything on the next season turning out right.

We didn't throw a parade this weekend. We did chores. We stood around a fire. And somewhere in there it hit me that a working family farm might be the most honest 250th-birthday celebration there is. No fireworks required. Just the same dirt, the same sunrise, the same stubborn belief that if you put in the work, the land pays you back.
