Some weeks out here are about the cattle. This one was about the family. If you caught us on Bravo last week, you watched my brother Cole get down on one knee for Kacie — and honestly, that was just the start of it.

Cole Finally Did It

I've watched Cole and Kacie go through it — on camera and off. The ups, the downs, the whole thing playing out in front of the entire country on The McBee Dynasty. So watching him get down on one knee last week hit different for me.

That's my little brother. I've known him since he was a stubborn kid who thought he knew everything. Now he's a man building a family of his own. You can raise all the good cattle you want, but watching your brother step up like that is a different kind of proud.

"You can raise the best cattle in the country. It still doesn't come close to watching your little brother turn into a family man."

We Loaded Up for Florida

This past weekend we packed up the whole crew and headed to the Florida coast. Blair — Cole and Kacie's little girl — and Summer, Jesse and Alli's baby, got their toes in the sand. Salt water, sunset, and for once, no fence to fix and no hay to cut.

We didn't go down there for no reason, though. We went because things are about to get a whole lot busier around here. There's another McBee on the way, and we wanted to get everybody together — babies and all — before she shows up.

Another Little Girl Is Coming

That's right — Cole and Kacie have their second baby girl on the way, and she's due in about a month. A little sister for Blair. We're keeping her name to ourselves for now, but I can tell you she's already got a whole family waiting on her.

The dynasty keeps growing. Every year there's another chair at the table, another set of little boots by the door. That's the whole point of what we do out here — build something that outlasts us and hand it down.

Back to Work — With Something to Look Forward To

Now we're back home, back in the dirt. It's the middle of summer, so there's hay to put up and cattle to move and the same long days there always are this time of year. But this stretch feels different.

Every one of us is counting down to that baby girl. A proposal, a beach trip, and a new McBee all in the span of a few weeks — I'll take a summer like that every year. The farm will always be here. Family is what makes it worth working for.
