Some trips stick with you forever, and our recent adventure to Montana was one for the books. The McBee Boys loaded up and headed west for a roadtrip unlike any other—rounding up a herd of wild bison on the Flathead Indian Reservation and bringing them back to our Family Farm & Ranch in Missouri.

From the moment we arrived, we were in absolute awe. Montana’s vast open landscapes, towering mountain peaks, and endless blue skies made for one of the most scenic backdrops in the world. It was the kind of place that makes you stop, take a deep breath, and appreciate the raw beauty of nature. We've always said that a North Missouri sunset is hard to beat ... well, that was before we were lucky enough to witness one from the banks of the Flathead River in Montana.

During our time there, we stayed in teepees, just like the early settlers and Native American tribes who lived off this land for centuries. At night, we gathered around the campfire to cook dinner, swapping stories from the days' adventure and enjoying the peace that comes with staying in a place with no cell phone signal and no sign of human life - before crawling into our teepees to sleep under bison fur blankets.

One of the most unforgettable parts of the trip was swimming in the crystal-clear waters of the Flathead River. There’s nothing quite like diving into fresh, ice-cold mountain water, surrounded by rugged terrain untouched by time. We even had a portion of the trip that required wading our horses through the river in order to get to the herd of bison... Absolutely incredible.

But the true highlight of the trip? The bison roundup. Mounted on horseback, we rode across the sprawling plains, driving the herd through Montana’s breathtaking landscape. It was like stepping back in time - a reminder to what life was like hundreds of years ago.

By the time we packed up and made the journey back to Missouri with the herd, we knew we had just experienced something truly special. This was more than just a trip—it was a once-in-a-lifetime adventure, a return to the roots of the American West, and a reminder of why we love this way of life.

The McBee Boys won’t soon forget Montana. And neither will the bison that now call Missouri home.

Until the next adventure, From the Farm.
