Harvest Begins: The Super Bowl of the Farm
There’s a special energy in the air as the calendar flips to October. The leaves are just beginning to turn, the mornings carry that crisp fall chill, and across North Missouri, combines are starting to roll into the fields. For us, this is the Super Bowl of farming — the season we’ve been working toward all year.
After months of planting, tending, and praying for the right weather, the reward finally comes in the form of golden rows of corn and soybeans ready to harvest. There’s nothing quite like the rumble of a combine firing up for the first pass of the season or watching grain pour into a truck as the fruits of our labor are finally gathered.
Fall on the farm isn’t just about hard work — it’s about tradition, family, and gratitude. As we spend long days (and nights) in the fields, the beauty of the season reminds us why we love this way of life. From the orange and red leaves drifting across the countryside to the sight of headlights glowing in the fields after dark, October truly captures the heart of farming.
Here’s to a safe, successful harvest and to the start of another unforgettable fall.
