There are moments in life that you know will stay with you forever—the kind that make you pause, take a deep breath, and truly soak it all in. A couple weeks ago, I experienced one of those moments. It wasn’t just about the hunt or the harvest; it was about sharing something unforgettable with Cole and our daughter (who I am currently 8 months pregnant with)—our first time in the tree stand together as a family.

Hunting has always been important to Cole, and over time, it’s become something special to me too. But this hunt felt different. As we climbed into the stand that evening, I wasn’t just there as a hunter—I was there as a soon-to-be mom, carrying the little life we’re about to welcome into the world. Knowing that our daughter was right there with us, experiencing this moment in her own way, made it all the more meaningful.

The woods were quiet, the kind of peaceful stillness that makes you feel small yet completely present. As the sun began to set, a beautiful Missouri buck stepped into view. My heart pounded, not just from excitement, but from the weight of the moment. With Cole beside me, I took a deep breath, released the arrow and made a great shot on my biggest buck ever.

A perfect shot. A perfect hunt. A perfect memory.

Walking up to that buck, I felt a flood of emotions—pride, excitement, and an overwhelming sense of gratitude. Not just for the hunt itself, but for what it represented. This was our first hunt as a family, the first of many stories we’ll tell our little girl one day. She may not have been able to see it, but she was there. And someday, we’ll remind her that before she was even born, she was already part of one of our greatest adventures.

Hunting has always been about more than just the harvest. It’s about time spent together, the lessons learned, and the memories made. And for me, this hunt will always be the one that means the most—the one where our little family shared our first moment in the stand, a moment that will stay with us forever.

Until next time, cherish the moments, and we’ll see you soon From the Farm.
