The Calm Before the Storm
Right now, there’s a sense of quiet on the farm—but it won’t last long. This time of year is what we call "the calm before the storm." The fields may be bare, but inside the shop, the guys are working tirelessly to get every piece of equipment ready for the madness that is planting season. Tractors, planters, and sprayers are getting their final tune-ups, every bolt is being tightened, and every machine is being prepped for the most important time of the year—planting.
Once April rolls around, the calm turns into controlled chaos. Long days and even longer nights will be spent in the fields, pushing hard to get every acre planted on time. Because in farming, timing is everything. It doesn’t matter how good your equipment is, how perfect your seed selection is, or really anything else—if the seed isn’t in the ground at the right time, the entire year’s success is at risk.
That’s why these weeks of preparation are so critical. We don’t get a second chance at planting season. When it’s go-time, it’s go-time. And until then, we’ll keep turning wrenches, checking every detail, and making sure that when the storm of planting season hits, we’re ready to roll.
Stay tuned—April is coming fast, and the real work is about to begin. We'll keep you updated with these weekly blogs to let you know how planting season is rolling along!
See you in the fields soon
