A Mother’s Day Tribute to the Heart of Our Family
From the outside looking in, most people see us McBee boys as a tough (...aside from Cole), hard-working, farming family — and that’s true. But if you really want to understand the heartbeat of our family, you have to look at the woman who raised us: our mom, Kristi McBee.
Growing up, Mom was the glue that held it all together. Four boys is no easy task, especially when you mix in farm work, competitive sports, big dreams, and stubborn attitudes. But somehow, she managed to give each of us the kind of love and encouragement that built us into the men we are today. She showed us grace, gave us discipline (although most of the time left this to our Dad), and poured into our lives with a strength and love that only a mother can.
On the days we felt defeated, she was the first to remind us of who we were. On the days we celebrated wins, she was always the loudest cheerleader - and still is to this day. And no matter how chaotic life got — whether we were chasing cows, chasing dreams, or chasing each other — Mom was steady, supportive, and full of faith - something that hasn't changed over the years.
And now, watching her as a grandma to Blair and Summer... that’s an entirely new level of special. Seeing the way her eyes light up when she holds them, how she instinctively knows how to calm a cry or spark a smile — it's beautiful to witness. She’s not just our Mom anymore, she’s “Grandma,” and she wears that title with the same warmth and grace she always has. Jesse, Cole, Alli and Kacie all have a newfound level of respect (even deeper than before) seeing how Mom has stepped up to help in so many ways with the new grand babies.
So for this Mother’s Day, we just want to say thank you. Not just to our mom, but to all the moms out there — the ones who give without asking, love without limits, and raise the next generation with courage and heart.
But most of all, thank you, Mom. For everything. We love and appreciate you more than words can say.
Happy Mother’s Day.
