What are your animals fed?
Our cattle are pasture-raised and finished on a supplemental grain feed. That finishing process is intentional — it's what creates the marbling, the tenderness, and the rich flavor that makes our beef taste the way beef is supposed to taste. We get the best of both worlds: animals that live and graze on real pasture, finished in a way that puts incredible flavor on your plate.
Are your animals given hormones, antibiotics, or vaccines?
No. Our animals are raised without added hormones, antibiotics, or vaccines. It's how we raise meat for our own family, and it's what we ship to yours.
Why is your meat more expensive than the grocery store?
Because it's not the same product. Grocery store meat is commodity-raised, often sourced from large industrial operations, and can sit in a case for days before you buy it. Our meat comes from animals we raised ourselves, processed cleanly, and shipped directly to you. If you're used to grocery store beef, the difference in taste will be immediately obvious.
Does frozen meat taste as good as fresh?
Yes — when it's done right. Flash-freezing immediately after processing locks in flavor and quality far better than "fresh" meat that's been sitting in a grocery store case for days. Thaw it in your refrigerator overnight and you will not be able to tell the difference.
How does shipping work?
We ship nationwide. Every order is packed in an insulated box with dry ice to keep everything frozen in transit. We then use Next-Day Air Shipping so you receive your order the day after we ship it! You'll receive tracking so you know exactly when to expect it.

Two of the steaks were 1/2 fat 1/2 meat. The other 2 looked good. Embarrassing to serve to guests. One of the steaks also was cut thinner than the others. I would suggest better butchers. The shame of it all is that the steaks were delicious! The 2 steaks pictured are a comparison. Two were beautiful and 2 were mostly fat

So, I source my ribeyes from several places. A local Hollister CA butcher who sells Midwest grass fed beef, Four 6666’s Ranch in the past, and a local Rancher who sells grass finished beef, raised locally without all the hormones etc of Costco, though I do buy there as well from time to time, not my first choice. McBee’s beef is tasty, I would appreciate if it were aged a bit before shipping which I don’t find mentioned on the website, though neither does the local rancher. It just means that I have to do some aging at home to get the flavor and tenderness I like. While the meat does have a good taste, the cuts are often a bit shaky, with random knife cuts on meat and strips or chunks of beef hanging off of the steaks. Also I would prefer a thicker steak but I understand that depends on the size/width of the rack. So, overall, I’ve had better, but price point, taste overall, I will likely order again. Just trying to be honest:)
